CMMG Mk47 Mutant

Image
The  CMMG Mk47 Mutant  is an American-made  semi-automatic rifle   chambered  in  7.62×39mm   caliber , made by CMMG Inc. It can accept all types of 7.62-type  magazines , including steel, polymer and  drum magazines . Few debates have been waged more vigorously than that of the superiority of the  AR  versus the AK. Each side of the argument has staked its position, and both have dug in like defenders of the earth preparing for the last stand against an invasion. Both platforms have proven to be excellent performers when playing to their strong points, yet neither can be universally declared the best combat rifle for all missions and in all environments. One might wonder what would happen if a company created a modern mashup of the two rifles. Could a new champion be made from the parts of the two existing contenders? That’s the exact question CMMG seems to answer with the Mk47 Mutant rifle. The Mk47 was publicly ...

UK’s Taranis stealthy UAV unveiled

Image
2006 a prototype of England’s Taranis Unmanned Combat Aircraft System (UCAS) has been unveiled for the first time by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). It is name after Celtic god of thunder, Taranis will be one of the world’s largest UAVs at about the size of a BAE Systems Hawk Jet the Taranis will have two internal weapons bays and, with the inclusion of “full autonomy,” the intention is for the craft to “think for itself” for a large part of any mission. However, BAE Systems says that should such systems enter into service, they will at all times be under the control of highly trained military crews on the ground who will also be able to remotely pilot the aircraft.

Boeing F/A-XX

Image
Future of air combat, is it man or unmanned? Boeing propose a new concept image for a "sixth-generation" fighter to replace the F/A-18E/F fleet after 2025. The two-seat, twin-engined tailless concept jet is being offered for F/A-XX, a notional US Navy strategy that has not yet become a formal requirement. Although the image shows a tandem cockpit, Boeing says the aircraft could be manned or unmanned "depending on the missions assigned and technology maturity" No much details on the sensory and weaponry part yet.

G36

Image
The G36 is a German 5.56mm assault rifle, designed in the early 1990s by Heckler & Koch (H&K) and accepted into service with the Bundeswehr in 1997, replacing the 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. At the end of the cold war after the rejection of Heckler & Koch’s caseless round and the G11 rifle the German army (Bundeswehr) had really three options: 1. to continue to use the G3 rifle. 2. to start using the AK-74 (of which there were tens of thousands in the armories of the former East German state), 3. to have yet another competition for a new assault rifle. After much deliberation the choise was finally made: the G3 was becoming obsolete, the AK-74 was politically untenable (but it would have been the most economic choise). So a new design competition was held. The winner of this competition was a new rifle system from H&K, which was adopted as the G36 (Gewehr 36 = Rifle 36). Variants of the G36 Assult riffle are as follows:- - G36E/V: Previously known a...

RAH-66 Comanche

Image
The Boeing/Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche was an advanced U.S. Army military helicopter intended for the armed reconnaissance role, incorporating stealth technologies. It was also intended to designate targets for the AH-64 Apache. Sadly the RAH-66 program was canceled in 2004 before it was fielded. Abilities The sophisticated design of the Comanche helicopter allows it to dash to a speed of 175 knots, then cruise at a steady 165. The futuristic propulsion and navigation design also allows the helicopter to execute snap turns in 4.5 seconds and fly sideways or backwards at an incredible 70 mph! With a tremendous power output of 1,432 horsepower from each of it's turboshafts, the Comanche climbs at a rate of 1,418 feet per minute. Firepower The Comanche can go to war with up to 14 "Fire and Forget" Hellfire anti-tank missiles, which, once fired, are programmed to control their own flight to their targets. The helicopter can also deploy up to 56 rockets (70mm), or 28 Stinger ai...

HK416 - Delta Force - Weapons

Image
HK416 is possibly the weapon of choice for 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D)a.k.a Delta Force over the Colt M4A1. The HK416 uses a proprietary gas system derived from the HK G36, replacing the direct impingement gas system used by the standard M16/M4. The HK system uses a short-stroke piston driving an operating rod to force the bolt carrier to the rear. This design prevents combustion gases from entering the weapon’s interior, a shortcoming with direct impingement systems. The reduction in heat and fouling of the bolt carrier group increases the reliability of the weapon and extends the interval between stoppages. It also reduces operator cleaning time and stress on critical components. HK416 is a gas operated, selective fired weapon of modular design. It uses short-stroke gas piston that operates the 7-lug rotating bolt. Receiver is made from high grade aluminium alloy. Combination-type safety / fire selector allows for single shots and full automatic mode....

Sukhoi PAK FA T-50

Image
PAK FA T-50 is the Russian's answer to the American F-22 Raptors. It was design to directly compete with the American F-22 Raptor and American/British F-35 Lightning II. The T-50 performed its first flight January 29, 2010. A side by side comparison between T-50(on the left) and F-22 (on the right). Most of the electronics warfare and counter warfare and weaponry is still classified. But is it safe to say that since it is a 5th generation fighter stealth is included in the design. As far as weaponry goes, the new jet can also carry two long-range missiles developed by the Novator Bureau which can hit targets within a 400 kilometer range. It is said to be much more cheaper to produce and maintain compare to the American's F-22. Since the T-50 is still on testing ground the exact technical specs are classified. But a general concept of the specs are as below: General characteristics:- * Crew: 1 * Length: 22 m (72 ft) * Wingspan: 14.2 m (46.5 ft) * Height: 6.05 m (19.8...

Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II

Image
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation, single-seat, single-engine, stealth multirole fighter, that can perform close air support, tactical bombing, and air defense missions. The F-35 has three different models; one is the conventional takeoff and landing variant, the second is short takeoff and vertical-landing variant, and the third is a carrier-based variant. It is to be the world's foremost stealthy, supersonic, survivable, lethal, supportable and affordable multi-role fighter. What is commonly known today as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program had its origination in several programs from the 1980s and early 1990s. The JSF program was designed to replace the U.S. military's F-16, A-10, F/A-18 (excluding newer E/F "Super Hornet" variants) and AV-8B tactical fighter aircraft. The F-35 is intended to be the world's premier strike aircraft through 2040, with close- and long-range air-to-air capability second only to that of the F-22 Raptor....

CIA Special Activities Division (SAD)

Image
A blogger friend of mine from ahdeedas blogspot recently blog about 1:6 scale Soldier Story CIA SAD Night OPS Version 2. The 1:6 scale version of the CIA SAD operators (as my blogger friend mention and shown) does look awesome and cool but reality is far from what's shown. CIA SAD operators appearances are far from military regular standard looks of clean shave facial hair and crew cut hair style. They are normal looking paramilitary who does not dress up as the normal infantry would such as uniform or uses any of the standard issue assault riffle from the United States Armed Forces for it's combatants. Very rarely the CIA SAD operator is seen with any standard issue items from the United states Armed forces. They need, will and have to blend in with the crowds in order to achieve their task or missions. Little is known about the CIA covert unit. They are one of America's most secretive and lowest profile special ops organizations. The Special Activities Division, sometimes...

M4 carbine

Image
M4 Carbine or colt M4 Carbine is a family of firearms tracing its lineage back to earlier carbine versions of the M16, all based on the original AR-15 made by ArmaLite. The Colt M4 carbine entered service with US Army in 1994. Basically it is a shortened M16A2 automatic rifle with a telescopic buttstock. This carbine was intended as a substitute for submachine guns. It is used by airborne troops, special forces, tank crews, vehicle drivers etc. It is a versatile weapon. Carbine executes single fire and three round burst and it is completed with dioptric sight, however an optical sight can be fitted. Basically all the accessories used on the M16 automatic rifle (such as a modified M203 underbarrell grenade launcher, laser pointers, sound suppressors, tactical lights) are compatible with the M4 as well. There are a few variant of the M4 Carbine: - M4 MWS (Modular Weapon System) by Knight's Armament Corporation (KAC) for - M4A1 :a fully-automatic variant of the basic M4 carbine inten...

TDI Vector Kriss Super V

Image
The Kriss Super V submachine gun was developed by Transformational Defense Industries (TDI). It is currently an experimental weapon. The name Kriss comes from "Kriss" refers to a Southeast Asian fighting dagger. This weapon is intended to provide operators with improved control over accuracy and bullet dispersion, in both semi-automatic and full automatic modes, while firing hard-hitting .45 ACP ammunition. TDI refers to the operating system as the Kriss Super V. The system claims to compensate for recoil by utilizing moving parts that travel down into a recess behind the magazine. This means they travel vertically and forces encountered when they reach the end of their travel act downward, reducing muzzle rise. This feature minimizes muzzle climb after each shot. It also uses a moving weight attached to the bolt, to divert recoil force to the bottom. It also employs hydraulic buffer assembly to decrease rate of fire. This submachine gun is fitted with "Picatinny" ra...

Zumwalt class destroyer

Image
New age of warfare has transform the way Navy design their battleship. Hence in November 2001, the US Department of Defense announced that the DD 21 programme for the future surface combatant had been revised and would now be known as DD(X). The programme focus would now be on a family of advanced technology surface combatants, rather than a single ship class. In November 2005, DD(X) was approved for system development and demonstration (SDD). In April 2006, the USN announced that the first ship of the class will be designated DDG 1000 Zumwalt. The second ship will be Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001). The DDG-1000 is planned to feature the following: a low radar profile; an integrated power system, which can send electricity to the electric drive motors or weapons, which may someday include railguns or free-electron lasers total ship computing environment infrastructure, serving as the ship's primary LAN and as the hardware-independent platform for all of the ship's software ensemb...
