If it works why fix or change it...that is what happening to the old F-15 Eagles in the united states Armed forces.

Basically, uncle Sam and his partner a.k.a Boeing propose that the old F-15 Eagles shall be given a breath of fresh air hence the F-15SE Silent Eagle is born... The proposed upgrade of the F-15E to F-15SE by Boeing using fifth generation fighter features, such as internal weapons carriage and radar-absorbent material.

It builds upon the impressive attack capabilities of the F-15E by adding more advanced electronics, internal weapons bays, stealth aspects, and modifications to the airframe.

Offered as a cheaper alternative to more expensive next generation fighters such as the F-22 raptors, the Silent Eagle provides the heavy punch of the Strike Eagle with deadlier effectiveness. With programs such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter facing scrutiny and numerous delays, the Silent Eagle provides an advanced variant of the venerable Eagle, able to take on the threats of the foreseeable future.

It doesn’t hurt that it builds upon a fighter that’s been in production(Strike Eagle) with an impressive track record. In addition, all of the new components made for the F-15SE can be retrofitted to existing F-15E Strike Eagle.

The only thing or capabilities that's missing or does not come equip with it are the gerwalk mode and battle-roid mode...so sad...hope they have that "fitted for but not with" clause in their contract for future upgrades of course pending of the dollar and cents, technology and common sense of why the heck does one want to do that in the 1st place....
